Web-sites Identifying Prominent Jews, Most Providing Bio-sketches
Wikipedia An extensive listing of Jews organized by respective fields of prominence such as performing and visual arts, literature and journalism, politics, Military, etc. The site includes a section on controversial Jews.
JInfo This is a major site listing important Jews by field of prominence including all the Nobels, various academic disciplines and other fields such as "chess."
Yahoodi Includes lists of Jews, again by fields of prominence. Involves an element of "nominating" and "voting" which may result in less accuracy than similar sites.
Jewish Heroes This is a less robust site, but it does list prominent Jews.
Jewish-American Hall of Fame The site of the Jewish-American Hall of Fame with its listing of Famous American Jews. More limited in terms of coverage, but provides bio- sketches of important figures
Israel SciTech One of many pages within the Israel Science and Technology Web-site which refers to itself as "the national database and directory of science and technology related sites in Israel. This page accesses the database of Jewish Nobel laureates using strict "interpretation of the laws of the Hebrew Scriptures to define who is Jewish."
Jewish Virtual Library An excellent listing of important Jews sequenced alphabetically with bio-sketches. A related site is shown directly below.
Forward is a list of 50 Jews the publishers of Forward believe are "likely to be in the news in the year ahead. . . who are doing and saying things that are making a difference. . ."
